Baptists on Mission

The Baptists on Mission at First Baptist Church of Butner

In 2018 the WMU (Women on Mission) changed their name to Baptists on Mission and now join with the men of the church in many of their mission endeavors.

The Baptists on Mission meet on the last Saturday every month at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast and then the men and women split into their different groups to pray for missionaries, learn more about them and their areas of service and discuss projects and activities to be undertaken. These projects include visiting nursing homes and retirement centers such as Brantwood, Oxford Manor, Granville House, Heritage Meadows and the Learning Center, a facility for brain injured adults. Covered dish meals have also been provided for our local law enforcement officers as a way of thanking them for the service they provide to our community. In addition, the Baptists on Mission have provided refreshments and entertainment at the local correctional center. In August the group host's a "Christmas Dinner" for the church body, during which time toys are collected for the Toy Ministry of the Church and Community Missions (CCM Hut) of the Flat River Baptist Association.

All of these projects, and many not listed here, are an undertaking in a spirit of love and service and a desire to reach out to others with the message of God's forgiveness of sin through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.

All of the women of the church are invited to be a part of the Baptists on Mission activities and the joy those activities bring to each of us, in a way that they might be able and willing to participate.
